Goa Set to Become India’s Ultimate “Concert Hub” with 20,000-Seat Arena at Mandrem

Goa concert hub

Goa, India’s party capital, is ready to groove to a new rhythm! The Goa Tourism Department has announced plans to transform the coastal state into a concert hub, introducing a world-class plug-and-play facility and a mega performance arena with a 20,000-seat capacity in Mandrem.

A New Era for Goa’s Entertainment Scene

With the flagship EDM festival Sunburn moving out of Goa, the state government is seizing the opportunity to redefine its tourism strategy. The proposed concert hub will host international music festivals, conventions, cultural shows, and entertainment events throughout the year — ensuring Goa stays vibrant beyond just sun, sand, and sea.

Boost to Tourism and Local Economy

Goa continues to attract millions of tourists, with over 7.6 million tourist arrivals recorded so far in 2025. Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte emphasized that large-scale concerts and entertainment events will not only diversify Goa’s tourism but also boost the local economy and create jobs.

“The move is to ensure that our tourism is not restricted only to the beach. Concert tourism is an emerging sector, and we need to tap it,” said Khaunte.

Plug-and-Play Concert hub Venues Along the Coast

The government plans to develop multiple plug-and-play concert facilities along Goa’s coastal belt to host high-profile performances like Coldplay, international conventions, and destination weddings. These facilities will cater to both domestic and global audiences, making Goa a year-round entertainment destination.

Crackdown on Unregistered Hotels

To maintain quality tourism infrastructure, the government is tightening regulations on hotels that operate without proper classification. Hotels will now be categorized more strictly, ensuring transparency, safety, and better experiences for tourists.

What It Means for Goa’s Future

This initiative could place Goa alongside global entertainment destinations such as Ibiza and Bali. With its scenic backdrop and vibrant culture, Goa’s transformation into a concert hub could attract artists and audiences worldwide.
