South Goa Water Supply Shutdown Rescheduled to October 14

The Public Works Department (PWD) has announced that the planned water supply shutdown, originally scheduled for October 13, has been postponed to October 14, 2025.

The shutdown will now take place from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM to allow essential leakage repairs and maintenance on the main water pipelines. The work will focus on the 1400 mm Mild Steel (MS) and 1200 mm Pre-Stressed Concrete (PSC) pipelines connected to the 160 MLD Water Treatment Plant under Works Division V, DDW Xelpem, Sanguem.

Due to this rescheduling, several parts of South Goa are expected to experience restricted water supply on October 14 and 15.

Sanguem • Curchorem • Quepem • Sanvordem • Curtorim • Cuncolim • Velim • Benaulim • Margao • Fatorda • Navelim • Nuvem • Cortalim • Dabolim • Vasco • Mormugao

The PWD has requested residents to store sufficient water in advance and use it judiciously during the maintenance period. Normal water supply is expected to resume by the evening of October 15.
