Goa, often known for its beaches, nightlife, and rich cultural heritage, is soon set to embrace a new dimension of spiritual tourism. Inspired by the grandeur of Varanasi’s famous Ghatt Aarti, the Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC) is preparing to bring this divine experience to the serene banks of Narve in Bicholim.

This ambitious project, with an estimated cost of ₹10.5 crore, has recently received approval from the Goa Coastal Zone Management Authority (GCZMA) under the Coastal Regulation Zone guidelines. With this crucial green light, the stage is set for work to begin, and the Ghatt Aarti experience is expected to be unveiled by 2026.

The upcoming Aarti at Narve aims to capture the spiritual essence and cultural depth of the Ganga Aarti while infusing it with Goan charm. Picture the evening sky glowing with a thousand lamps, the sound of conch shells echoing across the river, and the rhythmic chants filling the air—a breathtaking sight that will draw both devotees and travelers seeking peace and connection.

Beyond its religious significance, this project also highlights Goa’s growing efforts to diversify tourism. By embracing spiritual and cultural attractions, Goa hopes to attract visitors who wish to experience tranquility, heritage, and devotion alongside its natural beauty.

Locals believe that such an initiative will not only promote spiritual harmony but also create new opportunities for local artisans, performers, and businesses in and around Bicholim.

When the Narve Ghatt Aarti finally lights up in 2026, it won’t just be another attraction—it will be a moment where the soul of Varanasi meets the spirit of Goa. A union of devotion, culture, and light that promises to make evenings in Bicholim truly divine.
